Camryn's Road To Recovery

On July 7th,  when Camryn (daughter of our dear friend, Raeann Cox) was with her father and his family celebrating her cousin's birthday, she was accidentally shot in the jaw by another child. The bullet did extensive damage to her jaw, tongue, vertebrae, and the main artery in her neck. She was airlifted to Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago and despite being in very good hands she remains in critical condition in the ICU. The surgeries started on Sunday, July 8th and will be ongoing. So far, Camryn has undergone multiple surgeries on her carotid artery, tongue, and had a neuro procedure to place a halo that she will need to wear for 2-6 months. She also has a trach in place and is breathing on a ventilator. She is scheduled to have jaw reconstruction surgery on Friday, July 13th.  There will be many more surgeries to follow. As you can imagine, this has been an unfathomable nightmare for Camryn's Mom, Dad, and entire family. Camryn is a strong little fighter, but has a long road to recovery ahead of her. The family truly appreciates all the prayers and support. Please continue to pray for this little princess.

Donations will help Raeann cover medical expenses and costs that will incur due to Mom being unable to work indefinitely, as Camryn will require around the clock care and homeschooling. 

We know many of Camryn's friends and classmates would like to send cards and pictures, so we will post a PO Box address shortly where we will be accepting those, as well as gift cards and other donations.
