Every year, through the generous donations of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, its parishioners, and other churches, a great number of children get to celebrate in one of the most amazing summer camps yet. The donations keep camp tuitions low, and enable the staff to take on more and more campers and provide them with the tools required to look after them every summer.
Camp Three Holy Youths or Camp THY is an Antiochian Orthodox Church Camp sponsored by St. Nicholas Church and other Bay Area Orthodox Churches. Camp THY caters to more than 160 people annually, with more than 100 campers ages 9-17.
Campers get to participate in daily services which include Orthros, Vespers, and Divine Liturgy and Christian Education programs, followed by physical outdoor activities which include a pool, big playing fields, arts and crafts, basketball and volleyball courts, and much much more. Every night they participate in some special activity like a Hafli (Arabic Folk Dance Party), Bon Fire, Carnival Night, and other parties!
Heres how your donation will benefit the Camp.
Each donation enters a pool, that pool is gathered through other donations from churches, organizations, and parishioners. That "pool" is the largest source of the St. Nicholas Scholarship.
What's the St. Nicholas Scholarship? Well just as St. Nicholas himself was giving, the Church does too! The Scholarship provides financial assistance to campers who are financially unable to provide so that way no camper is denied access to Camp Three Holy Youths and they get to participate every year!
The remainder of the pool goes into budgeting to buy food, supplies, and materials for each camper. It's a win-win situation!
The best part you may ask? It's completely anonymous, and campers through the scholarship that require financial assistance stay confidential between the church and the campers family.
