What we’re raising funds for

We’re a small group of Campsie neighbours who care for the stray and community cats living around our parks, laneways and unit blocks. Every day, volunteers check feeding points, refresh water, and keep simple records so our cats don’t get “double dinners.” But food is only part of the story. The kindest, most effective way to help these cats is to keep them healthy and prevent more kittens being born on the street. That’s what this fundraiser makes possible.

Who we are

We’re local residents—students, families, shop owners and long-timers—who’ve been quietly feeding and monitoring a handful of colonies across Campsie, NSW. We coordinate through a neighbourhood chat, share photos and notes after each feed, and work with friendly vets and rescue groups when we can. We’re not a big charity; we’re your neighbours turning concern into practical care.

What we’re doing (and why)

Our approach is simple and humane:

• Feed responsibly so cats stay healthy without overeating.
• TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return) to prevent endless litters and reduce roaming, fighting and stress.
• Basic healthcare—vaccinations, parasite prevention and prompt treatment—to stop minor issues becoming emergencies.
• Shelter and water stations so cats have safe, clean places to rest and drink.
• Community education to reduce dumping, encourage desexing of pets and reunite friendly strays with owners where possible.

This keeps the existing cats healthier, reduces nuisance behaviours, and, over time, gently shrinks the colony size.

How we’ll spend the money

Every donation goes directly to cat care and essentials. Our priority spend will be:

• Desexing & microchipping (core to TNR)
• Vaccinations & parasite control (flea, tick, worm)
• Emergency and urgent vet care (injuries, dental, infections)
• Quality wet/dry food (measured portions to avoid overfeeding)
• Humane trapping & recovery supplies (traps, carriers, liners, recovery crates)
• Shelters & feeding stations (weatherproof tubs, bowls, insulation)
• Transport & incidentals (fuel, disinfectant, gloves, laundry)
• Outreach materials (simple signage/QR codes so neighbours can report, not duplicate feeds)

We won’t use funds for wages or stipends. Any donated gear (food, traps, blankets) reduces costs and lets us stretch every dollar further!

Transparency & updates

We’ll share regular photo updates of cats helped, plus short summaries of what was spent (e.g., “2 cats desexed, vaccines done, emergency eye treatment for Ginger”). Vet receipts will be uploaded where appropriate, and we’ll keep a simple, public tally of TNR progress and healthcare provided.

The impact you make

Your support means fewer kittens born into hardship, fewer cats suffering from preventable illness, and a calmer, cleaner environment for everyone. It also means our volunteers can focus on care—not scrambling to cover the next vet bill.

If you can give, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this page, donating supplies, or keeping an eye out for new arrivals helps just as much. Together, we can keep Campsie’s community cats healthy, safe and loved!
