Hi, my name is Lawrence and I'm thrilled that this July/August 2025, I will be embarking on a 4-week expedition to experience true off-grid living, trekking through the heart of the Bornean jungle and helping to protect orangutan habitats. I’ll discover a different way of life, living as part of a rural community and working together to create sustainable change. On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, I’ll play an active part in helping to protect this important environment through long-term conservation projects and UN Sustainable Development Goals, designed to make a significant and lasting impact on the region’s most critical issues. I’ll get the opportunity to explore the unique jungle ecosystem and unexplored tropical wilderness on an adventurous 5-day trek. There will be time to immerse myself in the traditional culture, as I live in the heart of a rural village and work alongside local people to support community development.

I will be posting pictures of my expedition experiences on this site, so you can see how your donations are helping to fund local community projects, such as building classrooms, installing clean water supplies for entire villages, or constructing new homes for vulnerable families.

Over the past year, I have achieved almost half of the £4,840 funding needed. This marks my final online fundraiser: "The Surrey Three Peaks Challenge," which I will undertake on 19th April. I will navigate a 23-mile (37 km) round trip across Box Hill, Holmbury Hill, and Leith Hill—the highest point in Surrey—encompassing a total ascent of 1,060 meters. My personal goal is to complete this challenge in less than 9 hours!!
