Funeral Expenses - was Camping in Comfort with Cancer
Donation protected
UPDATE:
It's the official end of Summer 2024 and I'm not sure I can type this update right now, but I guess I have to.
Monica has left us.
The family had the best possible summer but the inevitable end had to come. And now all the expenses of a life's ending are falling on this one small family business. If you can help further, please do - by donating and/or by sharing.
If you have already helped, thanks from the bottom of all our hearts, we who love Monica and we who want very much to continue supporting Jess, Riley, and Daniel through the loneliness and changes.
Hug your loved ones.
UPDATE: We've crossed the 50% line! Huzzah!
Stay tuned for our upcoming online auction of signed horror franchise posters, thanks to Dan at Calgary Horror Con.
Hi, I'm Jayne and I'm fundraising to help our friend Monica go camping with her family again this summer despite being very weakened by terminal cancer. They have so many great memories of camping as a family that have been overshadowed by these past years of cancer treatments.

As you can imagine, to be able to manage out in the wilds, she needs a good bed, onboard washroom, easier cooking and food storage. In short, a trailer.

We all want her to have a really great summer, and to build more good memories for Jess and their sons to carry forward, so I'm specifically asking for help to offset the cost of a bigger trailer to help her camp in comfort (and other comfort/palliative expenses if there's extra).

Monica says:
"As most of you may know (and for some who may not) I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer that has metastasized to my liver and lungs. Over the past two years I’ve gone through different types of radiation and chemo but those therapies are no longer effective so I am just living with the cancer. My doctor’s prognosis is not good(months). I am much more optimistic (years) but that being said I would like to make the best of the upcoming summer months.
Jess, the kids and I would love to spend a lot of the time camping but our current trailer, while it has a lot of happy memories, has been outgrown while I was in treatment. The trailer we are hoping to get has big bunks (one for each kid) plus a dinette we can all sit around and play board games on a rainy night. It is open and roomy for my big boys go walk around in.
But most importantly there is a big, comfy bed for me to sleep, sit, read etc. I spend a lot of time in my comfy bed at home and having one out camping will make ALL the difference in how much time I can be out there enjoying my family time this year (and hopefully next year too)."

So please, if you can, help Monica have a great summer with her family and give them good fresh memories to help carry them through the difficult times ahead.
