As you know, the Camp Fire which started this Thursday morning has devastated the town of Paradise.  My brother, Matt, was just getting off his night shift at Enloe Hospital down in Chico.  He got up to their home in Paradise, had time to only pick up Grace, Brett and the dogs and quickly left.  Kim had gone to her elementary school up in Magalia which was quickly evacuated.   By this time, the fire had grow and so had the chaos and traffic.  We were out of touch with her for most of the day, until she finally connected with Matt, Grace, Brett, and Emma down in Chico.    Our relief for her safety is beyond words.  

Although we were unsure about their home, we now know, their home, their neighborhood, like many, many others,  was destroyed in the fire.  

They are dealing with many uncertainties right now and are working to sort them out.  We are very fortunate that Kim's parents live an hour away, so they all have a place to stay that is somewhat close to Paradise.    

Right now, they need to buy clothes and things to get by the next few weeks.  Later, their expenses will grow as they try to rebuild their lives, rent a home, replace their furniture and household items, and down the road, rebuild their home  .
