It’s been a very difficult year for my 66 year old mother. Almost exactly a year ago she lost her husband, soul mate and best friend who passed suddenly, without warning. She took comfort in their home in Paradise, surrounded by his things, their memories and their two little dogs. They called Paradise home for years and lived in a retirement home park called El Dorado Mobile Estates. 

My mother received a frantic phone call from her daughter in law the morning of the fire to evacuate. She hastily left- with her two dogs and the clothes on her back and found herself near death with approaching fire in gridlock traffic trying to escape with everyone else in town. She made it out alive- but her home and every belonging she owned was destroyed in the fire. As she looks back, she regrets not grabbing a jacket although we are grateful that she didn’t take the time to do so as even taking an extra moment could have cost her life. 


She has been left with nothing and anything helps.  We are trying to set her up in a rental in Graeagle, Ca. or Quincy to get back on her feet and to be closer to her family during this time. 


Any donations received will be used first to buy some clothes and toiletries. Then a deposit and first months rent on a place to live. The rest of the funds will be used to furnish the rental (linens, bedding, kitchen supplies, furniture etc.)
