Camper Van Rental for comfy summer Adventures with Autumn

Donation protected
My name is Londen, and I am a mother who is racing against time to make the most of what may be the last summer I have with my amazing daughter, Autumn, as she battles the late stages of Juvenile Huntington's Disease (JHD). I've started this fundraiser for her, in the hopes that we can secure a 3 month camper van rental, from late July through late October, along with fuel and travel expenses. This is not about a luxury vacation on wheels (although she will love it); this is a medical necessity to give Autumn a safe, comfortable, climate-controlled environment so she can get out there and live life to the fullest while she still can. I have tried to convert our Chevy Suburban to make our car camping adventures possible, but the physical reality is, it has become too much. I desperately need your help.

Our 2026 Summer Plans & Why We Need a Camper Van Now
We had/have beautiful adventures planned for these next few months, but none of them are going to be possible in our converted Suburban. A long-term camper van rental would allow us to keep our plans, travel entirely at Autumn's pace, and safely enjoy every bit of the journey together:
Next Weekend (7/12): Driving through the Badlands and camping outside the Black Hills while we look for Fairburn agates.
On July 18th, I celebrate 4 years alcohol-free!
Last Week of July: A rockhounding road trip across Wyoming to Salt Lake City, UT, for the National Youth Alliance (NYA) JHD retreat.
Early September: Camping in Casper before the Benson Boone Concert!
Mid-September*** (Our Most Important Trip): A month-long+ road trip from Wyoming to North Carolina, up the east coast and back to spend lots of time with my sons (Autumn's brothers) Dakota and Logan, and my 1-year-old grandson, Alaric. We also plan to visit family in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, go to the beach (which Autumn deeply wants to do), visit the Omaha Zoo, and stop in Arkansas to spend quiet time on the river with friends and find lots of cool spots to rockhound!

What JHD Has Taken From Her
Autumn is my youngest child and my only daughter. Juvenile Huntington’s Disease is an extremely rare, progressive, neurodegenerative, and terminal brain disease. Autumn inherited JHD from her father, Justin, who lost his battle to HD in 2018 at just 36 years old. That same year our family received the most devastating news, that would change our lives and our world forever..
At 12 years old our daughter Autumn was diagnosed with Juvenile Huntingtons Disease with a CAG of 72. She was in very early onset of JHD at the time of her diagnosis, but the disease progresses up to five times faster in children than adults. Here were are just 8 years after her diagnosis and JHD has taken everything my beautiful girl once was. It was only five years ago that Autumn was a high school cheerleader. Four years ago was the last time she was able to ride her 4 wheeler. two years ago she could still feed herself. one year ago she could still use her assisted communication device. As of today, Summer of 2026, she cannot stand, sit or position her body on her own, she can't walk without support, words are just sounds- she can't talk anymore. I handle every single part of her daily life-positioning, transferring, bathing, feeding, and hygiene. Autumn's muscles are stiff, and her body is rigid and tight. Her hands twist and curl with dystonia, and she has frequent tremors. She has completely lost all of her independence. We made the difficult decision a few years ago that Autumn would not have a feeding tube placed. Unfortunately, she is at the point now where swallowing and sucking is becoming nearly impossible. Were trying to adapt the best we can but she is losing weight, and soon we will have to start blending her food.

but Autumn Still Has a Life Left to be Lived!
Life is incredibly difficult these days for Autumn and there's not a whole lot she can physically do, but if there is one thing she can always do, and still loves, it is sitting in the passenger seat, going on a long drive, and taking in the beautiful scenery! She is incredibly observant and yells out when she sees a cool car, an animal, or a coffee shop, and is a great eavesdropper! She has the most contagious smile and just loves being part of the world. I am determined to keep giving her those experiences.

Regardless of the daily challenges she faces and all of the abilities she has lost, that amazing, fun-loving, adventure-seeking girl is still inside. Autumn has always loved raising butterflies, riding four-wheelers, dancing, singing, camping, rockhounding, and just living her best life! We have been sharing Autumn's JHD journey on TikTok since 2019 (@LondenAndAutumn), where we advocate, educate, and have inspired others in our community to share their journeys, too. Over the years we have gained over 160,000 friends and followers, and we are so grateful for all the amazing people we've been able to connect with.

The reality of car camping in the Suburban
In August 2025, we were gifted a 2000 Chevy Suburban. Over the winter, I added lots of little things and poured my heart into converting the back into a cute, comfy camper complete with a bed, nice bedding, fans, tapestries, lights, window screens, and a tent that attaches to the back. But after recently camping in the intense heat, rain, and mosquitoes, I had to face the brutal truth: it is simply too punishing on Autumn's body.

The biggest realization happened last weekend, when we went to Montana for Agate Fest and camped along the Yellowstone River. We ended up still having a great trip, but it was incredibly difficult. For Autumn and for me. We faced our ultimate limitations. The heat was intense, our portable fans ran out of power, and we spent our time crammed in the back just hiding from mosquitos. The portable toilet bucket is becoming almost impossible for Autumn to use, and on top of that, I have to lift her entire body in and out of the vehicle. It is not easy. I love my daughter too much to keep forcing a setup that just won't work for her needs. Our time is running out, and we need a comfy, safe, accessible, climate-controlled camper van ASAP so we can continue our Adventures with Autumn.

How Your Donation Helps
With a reliable camper van, we can completely change Autumn's quality of life on the road. It will allow us to:
  • Keep Autumn completely safe from the intense heat and bugs.
  • Get her wheelchair out without tearing the entire back apart
  • Give her more space to sit, move, and lie down when her body is rigid.
  • Pull over and use the bathroom or feed her proper meals comfortably without intense stress.
  • Avoid spending an hour sweating and setting up camp, allowing me to just focus on being her mom.
  • Give us quiet time together to work on and complete Autumn’s legacy books.

What will the donation be used for?
  • 3-month camper van rental, fees, and insurance.
  • Fuel, food, and safe, accessible campsite accommodations.
  • Ensuring fun, safe, and comfortable travels for Autumn.
  • Funding the completion of Autumn's books on the road:
- Adventures with Autumn: Roadside Rockhounding
-Scenic Places Postcard Series
- Agate Coloring Book

With this extended camper van rental, I will take Autumn on as many adventures as I can, for as long as I possibly can!! We are deeply grateful for every single person who helps our family make this happen for her.

Please, if you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, we thank you so very much. Thank you for helping us make this happen, thank you for loving Autumn, and thank you for being a part of her journey.
