Campbell Family Relief

Hello,

Recently my family has been under a great deal of hardship and stuggle. My younger sister, Marlo has been suffering from post-surgical issues for the past two months. Born premature, Marlo had severe scoliosis in her lower back that would need surgical intervention. At the beginning of the summer she was scheduled to have her corrective surgery at BC Childrens Hospital. The doctors had a plan to devide her surgery over 2 separate procedures due to the severity of the curve in her spine, and although the enitial surgeries were successful, Marlo has been facing an onslaught of post-surgical problems since her first visit to BC Children’s. She has consistently been in and out of the intensive care unit for the past 6 weeks batteling a potentially life-threatening infection in her incision site.

My family is facing one of the hardest, and most challenging strains of our lives. Financially it is becoming more and more difficult for us to be able to help one another through this difficult time. Travel costs to and from BC Children’s alone are becoming a significant burden that is quickly becoming more and more difficult to afford as Aboriginal funding only covers so much. My parents run a family daycare out of our home, and with them both being in Vancouver at the hospital, there is little to no money coming in while they are supporting my sister.

If you have ever met Marlo you would know that she is truely one of a kind. She might look identical to me and our brother Liam, but her personality is unmatched. She is funny beyond her years, and has spunk and sass like no other ten year old I have ever met. She is kind, caring and is the light of our family’s lives. On days when she is well slept, Marlo’s charm and humour shine through.  She is a smart, loving child who has brought endless laughs and joy to her friends, teachers, pets and family.

Watching my parents and family go through this struggle has been heartbreaking. I, myself, am heartbroken. Home is where Marlo can heal. Where she can see her beloved bunny, Pepper and two dogs, Posey and Harper. Home is where she can watch her favourite cartoons and be goofy.
Home is where my parents can sleep, and have a break from stress and doctors. Home is where we can all rest and heal.

It would mean a lot to not only myself, but my family if the people of Prince George could aid us through this hardship. A donation or a sharing of this gofundme would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
