Campbell Leo Abra is the youngest son of Mark Abra and Sonia Apthorpe.
On Monday, 27th of January 2020, Campbell was involved in a serious motorbike accident.
He left the home he shares with his partner, Sam, and their one year old daughter, Terrie-Lee late in the afternoon to ride his prized dirt bike, wearing his helmet, goggles, gloves and boots, an activity he would do almost daily. Come night fall, Campbell failed to return home. Sam and his mother, Sonia, began the desperate search. Some 5 hours after he had left the house, he was found unconscious 30 meters from his bike in scrub area in Warialda. He was airlifted in a serious critical condition to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remained on life support with his family by his side.
His family were given the bleak and devastating news that there was nothing left for the doctors to do given the extent of his injuries. Sadly, Campbell passed away Monday, 3rd of February 2020.
While money will not ease the pain, we hope to take some of the financial pressure off Sam and Terrie-Lee while also helping give Campbell the farewell he deserves and allowing Mark and Sonia much needed time to grieve their unimaginable loss.
Campbell, Sam and Terrie-Lee’s lives together had just begun. Campbell was set to start an apprenticeship this coming week having completed a 3 month trial, they were making plans of buying a home, expanding their family and altogether having a bright and loving future.
