I hope these words find you well! I am beyond overjoyed as I write this news of God's rescuing and deliverance in my life. He has been hard at work with my heart over the past 3 months and continues to reveal Himself to me as I humble myself and surrender my life to His calling.
A little over a month ago I attended a service at The Summit Church in Raleigh, NC on the Sunday of my 24th birthday. I had been running as far and fast as I could from God and His plans for my life. I went to this service with no intention of listening or absorbing anything, but God had very different plans for me that day. He began to soften my heart and I slowly opened up to hear what He wanted to say. This was only the beginning. I attended The Summit again the following weekend and to my surprise, He broke me down even further. I found myself not completely open to God, but nonetheless receptive to the words being spoken by the pastor. I had been running from God for 4 long, unfulfilling years and that morning the pastor would say something that struck right at my core, "Boys stiffen their neck, men bend their knees". My heart had been as solid as cement for so long, but I felt the bonds begin to loosen that day. I began to bend my knees and submerse myself in His word daily, trusting on Him wholly to change my heart and save me from the disoriented life I had been living.
I write you that semi-brief explanation to give you some insight into my current life situation. I am now back in the arms of the one TRUE Savior and unconditionally sold out 100% to His plan for my life. He never left me in my darkest days, and I owe my life to Him completely. I feel very strongly that He is calling me to serve in missions. I have felt this calling since the age of 14 and I am now ready to pursue it wholeheartedly.
That being said, the door has been opened for me to serve as a volunteer staff member at Camp Bahamas in Eleuthera, Bahamas from the end of June until mid August. This is a tremendous opportunity for me to follow God's leading in my life toward missions and I have committed to follow unrelentingly. The airfare has already been covered through God's provision, but I need to raise $1,500 to cover my food, lodging, and travel expenses. I am humbly asking for your help in raising the remainder of this funding, if you are willing and able to do so.
If you are not able to support monetarily, I still request your prayers for God's continuing work in my life and for the safety/health of all the campers/staff throughout our time there. I will be posting periodic updates on what God is doing in my ministry at Camp Bahamas on my Facebook page so feel free to check it out! Thank you for taking the time to read about my mission and carefully consider supporting me. In love,
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."
