Hi, my name is Alaa Al hennawi, I am a Palestinian living in Norway with my family. I have a family in Gaza where they live under siege and war for more than four months. I am sharing with you the below message from my married brother, Mahmoud who are living now with his wife and four kids in Rafah. Please help him save his family and exit Gaza to Egypt.

Dear friends and supporters,

I just wanted to share an update with you on my fundraiser as I reached the goal due to your support and great contribution to the campaign. Thank you very much to everyone who shared the campaign with your friends, donated, and supported us to leave Gaza to escape the war and bombing. My family arrived to Egypt last Wednesday, thank God. My family is safe now and we are trying to settle in and get some rest and relief before leaving to Norway where my sister lives. We will start working on the application and procedures for immigration to Norway soon, however, it will take a few months until we finish the process and obtain permission to enter Norway. So, we will stay in Egypt for at least five months, and we will need additional support from you to get more money to cover living expenses including house rent, food, health insurance, accommodation and transportation fees, psychotherapy sessions for children, visa and ticket fees. The total cost of expenses will be 8,000 USD, equivalent to 86,500 NOK. The distribution of expenses will be as follows

1. House rent = $400 * 5 months

2. Food = $500 * 5m

3. Accommodation and transportation fees = $200 * 5 m

4. Psychotherapy session for children = $200 * 5 m

5. Visa fees and tickets to Norway = $250 * 6 individuals

Your support and contributions will help us reach Norway where my children can find a new home, start a new dignified life, and have access to high-quality health services and education.

My name is Mahmoud Al Hinnawi, a Palestinian from Gaza, and I live now with my whole family including my wife, Abeer, and four kids aged (from the oldest to the youngest); Ibrahim, 13, Adam, 10 years, Zain, 6 years, and the youngest baby is Tayem, 9 months who was born during the past war in May 8th (during the war between Al Jihad and the Israeli forces). My family and I are suffering the concurrent war, bombings, attacks, starvation, cold, and fear. I am writing to you while I don’t know if me and my family will be fine and will survive next day, or next hour or even next moment. Our house in Al Saftawi neighborhood, north of Gaza, was bombed and damaged after we evacuated to Rafah, the southern part of the Gaza strip. We evacuated for 3 times searching for a safe place or less dangerous place; given the fact that there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip. I and my wife were planning to and dreaming of changing our life to the best and decided to travel outside Gaza to secure a good future for our children where they can educate and grow up in a safe place. My wife lost her young brother (he was 13 years old) in the first Intifada who was killed by an Israeli soldier. We can’t bear another pain of loss of any member of our family. We were planning to travel outside Gaza before the war, our kids were keeping asking us when we would travel to start a new life with new memories away from any danger or threats, but all of our dreams were destroyed now and the worst is that we cannot save what remains or even exit Gaza to Egypt, simply because we don’t have enough money to pay for travel coordination which cost a lot.

My kids are very sad and were crying that they lost their games, beds toys, bags, PlayStation, clothes, their drawings, and everything. We know that you are supporting us and standing by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and we really appreciate what you’ve done and what you are keeping doing for us, to stop this unfair war, this genocide against the Palestinian civilians and our children in Gaza. the whole world has seen lost of heartbreaking and hard images for children and women killed and thousands of families left their homes seeking a safe place for their families and children, yet they are still images which do not really reflect the whole story. Behind the scenes, there are lots of people sleeping in tents in the streets or in open-air yards including US. It is very cold now, and WE barely have enough blankets. Even food is very little and if it is available, it is very expensive, and I can’t afford the cost. My kids dreamed to buy and eat some cake which is very expensive or very impossible to make it or find it in the local market because the crossings are closed. Tayem and Adam (9 months and 10 years) got sick of polluted drinking water while there are no medicines or doctors to examine them. the situation is very difficult and unbelievable for anyone living out of Gaza to understand, but we still have the last hope to rescue and save our children and exit Gaza to Egypt where we can start our new life and rebuild what has been destroyed and return what we lost in Gaza.

The only way for us to survive now is to leave Gaza through Rafah crossing point (the Egyptian border). To leave Rafah, it is required to pay 5000 USD for each adult and 2500 USD for each children each person. My family consists of me, my wife, our four boys: Ibrahim (13 years), Adam (10 years), Zain (6 years), and the new baby (9 months).

The cost is 5000 USD for adults and 2500 USD for each child. I wish I could provide the whole cost, but what I only could provide is 5000 USD. I never made a campaign for any personal use, but this campaign is for humanitarian aid. I wish you can help anybody not only family because the situation is very miserable and unbelievable.

I am writing to you because I do not want to lose my family. Every penny is worth it. Please help us to evacuate from Gaza, save my kids from the war and exit to Egypt. I am very grateful for anyone who can support and donate. You are donating for us to survive. I will never forget you, and my family and I will be very grateful, and your support is very much appreciated.
