Hello, I’m Wayne Schedler. I'm the little guy at The Last Genuine Leather Co. I've been employed there for 31+ years now and this has apparently made people think that I own the Company. . .I don't
I started doing Leather work in West Virginia in a log cabin in Margarete Holler in 1972 and then moved to Lexington in 1974 . A woodworker invited me to set up a small working display in the front part of his wood shop on Limestone. After less than a year he moved around the corner on High Street to a larger location. Then my former partner joined me and we were in that location until 1978 when I became employed in another business for a time still doing Leather work in my home.
Ken Guyer had opened The Last Genuine Leather Co. in 1975 on W. Main and soon moved his shop to Euclid Ave. in approximately 1976. I joined him there per HIS request in 1988.
So I've been doing Leather work for 47 years and should have been richer by now...but I am not.
Last January (2018) my beloved wife of 30 years (Sharron), died unexpectedly leaving a deep hole in my life. With our combined income we were living comfortably but with her passing half my income is gone as well as my savings and without any life insurance on either of us and also due to my "Dwarfin" back issues which have reared their ugly forces on my lower spine again I have been putting very little time in at work so have been experiencing a severe financial crisis. (Spinal injections have worked temporarily to some degree.)
If any of you are able to donate to help me out of my dilemma it would be greatly appreciated and God bless you!
