Can you imagine being a child and not being able to pet a goat?
What about not being able to sit at a table at lunchtime and eat with your friends?
Child Development Center serves preschool children with a variety of special needs, providing educational and therapy services to help them grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
We need your help to continue to provide exceptional care to exceptional children!
Who We Are
Child Development Center, Inc., is a high-quality, 501-c-3 nonprofit preschool offering services for children with and without developmental delays to help them grow in independence and be prepared for school.
We serve preschool children from New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties who:
• Are on the autism spectrum
• Have difficulty walking
• Have difficulty talking and/or understanding others
• Are medically fragile
• Struggle with emotional, behavioral and sensory regulation
as well as children with other conditions, alongside children who are meeting developmental milestones on time or even early.
We provide education services as well as speech, occupational, and physical therapies - all FREE of cost to families whose child has an IEP (individual education plan) through their local school system.
All this happens at our 5-star rated licensed child care center at 3802 Princess Place Drive, Wilmington, NC 28405.
We Need Your Help
We need your help to raise $35,000 –by July 1, 2019.
We Need You Because
• We have more children coming to us each year who have greater needs, which has increased our costs for providing services.
• Programs like ours are paid in arrears by school systems and other funding sources – yet we are required to provide services up front and be paid afterward.
• There have been no increases in state funding for special needs preschool children in more than 20 years.
• Although we can bill a family’s private insurance for therapies – if we have parent permission – high copays often result in us not being able to get any reimbursement for therapy services.
Therefore, we need your help to provide exceptional care to meet exceptional needs!
