Campaign for Al Monzo

Recently, My dear friend Al Monzo was diagnosed with ALS, aka Lou Gehrig"s  Disease. I've known Al for over 20+ years and he is a very proud and generous man who would give you the shirt off his back and expect nothing in return. Due to his illness, his last day of work is May 31rst  and his house needs to be remodeled to accommodate his future needs as his disease progresses, two bathrooms, one on each floor and a future bedroom on the first floor once he cannot climb stairs anymore. We also have to put in a ramp eventually for wheelchair usage, a  wheelchair and a vehicle with wheelchair access to get him back and forth to doctor's visits and future treatments all of which is going to be expensive.  I am trying to raise funds to help offset these costs which will be coming sooner rather than later. ALS is a progressive disease and can move quickly. He is Godfather to my youngest daughter Samantha and has always been there when I needed him in any situation.  Both Al and his wife Carol are selfless people who put others needs before theirs. There is no cure for ALS, medications and treatments only slow down the progression of the disease.  The sooner we can get everything in place, the better quality of life will be for Al as his symptoms are progressing. I will also be reaching out to contractors and anyone else who can help make these needs possible.
