Camp Tiddy Trailer Fund

Anyone else wanna try to have a Burn where no one yells at anyone? Me neither! Regardless, we've been talking a lotta talky-talk about trying to get a trailer going, and because I'm someone with a dream of building a custom trailer, I've done loads and loads of research on the subject. I'm *absolutely* willing to do the heavy lifting of finding (and even lightly repairing) a good used trailer to fit our needs, but first: let's put our (digital) money where our foul mouths are. Do we really want to do this? Or do we just really love dreaming and complaining?

I've set the goal for our dream-machine wish-bus at $10k, because that's about how much a used 20' utility trailer in decent shape costs. Meanwhile, here are some FAQs to peruse while you contemplate your investment in your future Burn sanity:

"But what about a shipping container? I thought those were like, $4k!" They are. However, we'll need a semi-truck (and a commercial license) to move it every time we go out there.

No, there are no reasonably-priced services who will do this for us. Seriously. I've looked. A lot. Please don't vote this down because you "know it exists out there somewhere;" only vote it down if you personally find a better solution *and are willing to make it happen for the camp.* If that happens, great! We can use these funds to get started!

Yes, shipping containers can *technically* be moved with a tilt-bed trailer with a wince, some rollers, jacks, and an f550/750 -- but we'd have to rent all of those things every year (to the tune of $900 - $1500), and the process is tricky, especially if you've never done it before.

Shipping containers can be custom-built onto heavy-duty utility trailers, but the cost doesn't make sense; we'll end up spending about the same amount of money for the same amount of storage space *and* have to deal with a heavier load than we would with an aluminum cargo trailer.

"Can this be done for less than $10k?" Maybe. We'll try to make it happen for whatever amount of money we raise. And if it's not enough, we'll either refund everyone or use the funds toward future moving/burn expenses or something fun like building an art car. We'll vote on it!

Meanwhile, dig deep, Tiddy Kiddies -- or forever zip your dusty lips.
