Since 2018, Camp Ohana has been and remains the only Summer Camp on the West Coast of Newfoundland aimed towards 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied Youth aged 14-18. Last summer we had the privilege of adding an additional camp for folks aged 19+!
For 7 camps to date, we have been a safe haven for young people in need of a place to be safely, proudly, and unconditionally themselves. With no requirements except to come as you are, the magic created at Camp Ohana is for everyone. Our mission has always been to create a space and provide resources and activities youth may not be receiving in their home communities. Our programming is focused on self expression, getting into nature, self care, and healthy relationships with age-appropriate, inclusive sexual education components.
In conjunction with the Corner Brook Status of Women Council, Camp Ohana is completely funded by generous community givers through grants and donations. Your donation helps us rent our venues, buy supplies, pay our professional workshop presenters, sponsors campers so everyone can attend, and more!
More than ever, our campers dream of a space that builds them up instead of one that tears them down. Your donation keeps the hope that comes with Camp Ohana alive, year after year. Find us at campohana.ca for future camper and volunteer applications as well as all of our past camp memories!
