Hello and Welcome to Another Beautiful Day at Camp Netimus!
Many of us have spent some magical summers at Camp Netimus either as campers, staff, or participants in off-season groups; regardless, Camp Netimus is special to us all.
Like many summer camps, Camp Netimus did not operate this summer due to COVID-19. It was not an easy decision, but we made the decision for the safety of our camp community.
Looking forward, we find ourselves ready, willing, and excited to plan for Summer ’21. We are 100% committed to open our gates for the 2021 season, as safely as possible. We take heart from the fact that our brother camp, Camp Shohola, was able to open for a safe three weeks this summer. If they can do it, we can too!
BUT money is tight. We now find ourselves in a situation where the cushion has been spent but the bills (insurance, utilities, mortgage, salaries, etc.) are still arriving. Many expenses have been cut (salaries, etc.). We have applied for loans and grants, but we are still going to come up short before the end of 2020.
In our 90 years of providing young women with a meaningful camping experience, we have confronted many challenges. None however as great as those in 2020. To ensure the Netimus experience continues, we are asking for your help. All funds raised will allow us to get ready for an amazing 2021 season!
