Our daughter Tesslah has ASD/Autism, and this summer we are creating a special experience for her we call Camp Independence. Alongside specialized academic tutoring, Tesslah will be learning practical life skills all summer long; enhanced communication, problem-solving, safe food preparation, health and safety skills, and even camping and survival skills!
To make this possible, she needs a dedicated care provider and counselor who can guide her through these challenges with patience and understanding. This fundraiser will support that need.
Our Camp Independence is not just a summer camp; it’s a chance for Tesslah to acquire skills she is behind on and will need as she transitions to intermediate school next year for 5th grade. The one-on-one instruction will help her become more self-sufficient, boost her confidence, and any breakthroughs in her communication abilities will increase her quality of life exponentially.
Like all parents of children with ASD/Autism, we are hopeful Tesslah will rise above her current challenges and be able to live independently one day. The instruction will be tailored to that goal, be engaging and fun, and speak to her unique needs.
We are cutting our own costs wherever we can, but we need just a little extra push for Camp Independence to become a reality for Tesslah. Any little bit of money donated will help! Your support will make a real difference in her life, and we are deeply grateful for any help you can give.
