The Galarneaux family has been a second family for myself growing up. Jamie is my best friend and she has been in Chico the past week helping her Grandparents, Aunt, and cousins deal with their losses from the Camp Fire in Paradise. Jamie was staying with me when the fire broke out, and I have been doing everything that I can to help since. Elinor Jeanne (Grandma/GG) was in Feather River Hospital as a result of head trauma when the fire broke out.  She sadly lost her life while they were attempting to evacuate. They have not even had a chance to mourn her death due to the fact that their houses burnt to the ground with most of the entire town. (Mortuary and churches included). Karen (Aunt) lived with GG and Poppy (Robert) and was their primary care taker. She is also a secretary for a local Paradise charter school that burnt down. GG’s husband (Robert) is now temporarily in Nevada with one of his daughters, but Karen is currently staying in a hotel and paying out of pocket. Due to the fact that her job is there, she is unable to go out of the area. The school will eventually be relocated and she will be greatly needed as soon as it is possible. The burden of losing your mom, your home, and work place at once has to take its toll, so I am setting up a GoFundMe to help. They literally lost everything they owned, and sadly did not have insurance. Any money that comes in will help tremendously.  It will mainly help with living expenses during transition, and funeral expenses once they are finally able to arrange them.
