On Nov. 8, our family (with 10's of thousands of friends, co-workers, and other community members) lost their homes, possessions and most basic sense of security. Many have some insurance, but some do not, but all will need significant help in the short term.

We'd like to raise funds from anyone who can spare some assistance without putting your own families in a bad spot and wants to help in a way where they know 100% of their contribution will go to good families who have lost everything.

While our transition expenses will be very significant, our story is so far from unique. I have at least four co-workers who also lost everything, and my wife (who works at Achieve Charter School) works with dozens of others who lost homes, as did probably dozens and dozens of students) and their families.

The funds raised here will be used for the following:

* Transitioning ours and as many like families as we can.

* Helping displaced children we know get clothes, toiletries and other necessities 

* Supporting first responders and volunteers in any way we can.

PLEASE DON'T DONATE IF...

* You and your family can't afford to. Your hearts are in the right place, but we don't want to unduly burden anyone!

* You, your family or friends are in same situation.
