Camp Fire Teacher and Classroom Support

We want to thank you again for your understanding and support of the unexpected school closure due to the unhealthy air last November. As mentioned before, Duck's Nest has long valued our tradition of supporting communities affected by natural disasters, and believe in the power of our hearts. We now want to turn our energy towards contributing efforts for the Camp Fire victims to rebuild their lives.
We have connected directly with a school teacher in Paradise, who introduced us to Color A Classroom With Love. This site was founded by two teachers, local to Paradise, who are spearheading a major relief effort for teachers who lost everything and are trying to rebuild their classrooms. A lot of these teachers taught at schools that were completely lost in the fire, and are currently sharing a classroom in other schools that survived. There were literally classrooms set up in the middle of an OSH Hardware Store, and other businesses who were willing to share their space.
We will be supporting a third grade teacher who lost her classroom, and school, in the fire. Katy Fritz has been a teacher for 20 years, and is currently teaching in a classroom with four other third grade teachers. While they don’t know exactly what the upcoming school year will look like for Katy and her colleagues, we do know that they need our help and support.
Duck’s Nest will be making a donation, and we are looking to our Duck’s Nest community to help as well. We will be putting change jars in the classrooms for children to fill with coins. This will give the children the opportunity be involved in the process of supporting a community in need, and see first-hand the positive impact they can have on the world.
We would like to collect all donations by Friday, July 12th.
