Katie and Jeff are navigating a nightmare of a week since their parents barely escaped from the Camp Fire that devastated Paradise California .  After arriving in Portland last week, the family suffered another crisis when Katie's Dad experienced a cardiac event. Katie's been caring for him at his bedside all week. Now they are facing caring for elderly parents unexpectedly, managing their finances, and transporting  parents to rehabilitation and follow up appointments with no car. Katie and Jeff could use a little breathing room while they reconfigure life to accommodate these new responsibilities and recover from the trauma of this week.

Katie and Jeff are amazing people who are in a very difficult position. The family home is not salvageable though they are still responsible for a mortgage, the family cats have been found (yay!) but a trip will need to be made to retrieve them, Dad is looking at a lengthy recovery during which time he will be dependent on Katie and Jeff for recovery supports.
