Rebuild Our Life Kenny & Ashley
Donation protected
Update: I can’t believe it’s already been a week an half. As the days go by food, gas and basic needs are adding up for Kenny & Myself. We are currently looking for new home in placer county. Currently staying in a hotel. Anything helps, even if it’s a small amount. I still can’t express enough how much it means to Kenny & I the love, support and donations we have received❤️
On November 8th I woke up from a call from my dad saying there was a fire up in paradise. It wasn’t until I looked out and saw the pure black clouds of smoke that I realized this was serious. I called Kenny immediately in a panic, he was currently out of town working. The first thing I did was scream outside for our cat Dingle, out of the graces of god he actually showed up that morning. That’s when I realized an entire tree was engulfed in flames at my neighbors house. I had seconds to get our dog Bubba and Dingle into my car and just drive away.
It took me 2 1/2 hours to get out of paradise. Going through the bottom of skyway while both sides were on fire, embers flying on my car while I could feel the heat closing in on my car will never be forgotten. It was pure black and all I could see were the taillights stopped in front of me. I’m so thankful I was able to finally escape on the opposite side of skyway, hoping no one was going to hit me head on. I thank my Aunt Jeanne and Cousin Rachel for trying to stay on the phone with me, trying to keep me calm in the most horrific thing I have ever gone through. I thank god everyday that I am alive and was able to save both my fur babies lives.
We got the news Sunday Evening that our home that we owned for 5 years is completely gone. This year has been a roller coaster for me. I have been unemployed since July due to being laid off. Myself and Kenny our trying to figure out are next move in rebuilding our lives. Thank you to everyone again for reaching out, donating & sending love! ❤️
Brianna Baker Update: This Go Fund Me is for one of my best friends since high school and dear friend Ashley Ottinger and her boyfriend Kenny Davis. She is an amazing friend, daughter, sister. Her boyfriend was out of town and she was left to evacuate on her own from Paradise with walls of fire surrounding her. She was able to get her pets and nothing else. I love her. They as well as all of Paradise need our help. Thank you!
