Camp Carnage - A Student Short Film Fundraiser
Donation protected
“A young couple on the brink of a breakup, decide to seek solitude at a remote campsite, but their romantic getaway turns into a terrifying fight for survival against a deranged killer lurking in the shadows.”
Camp Carnage is a campy, 80s-inspired short slasher film that aims to bring back the kitschy and over-the-top nature that horror films were intended to have. After going through a slasher film phase, I decided to start writing this film. As I watched film after film I realised how much the genre had changed, perfected, and become boringly predictable. Gone were the days of campy killers, fun lighting, quippy one-liners and interesting performances; everything is clean-cut now, with million-dollar budgets and A-list actors, the spark that once made slashers fun to watch has seemingly died out. But I don’t intend to let that happen.
I spent weeks researching, watching, and writing, all in the hopes that my script would be chosen to be made. And then it was! I was, and still am, ecstatic that my project was chosen to be made and I cannot wait to bring the story to life alongside my insanely talented peers. But herein lies the problem, we can’t make a project without any support, and as much as we appreciate the moral support we’ve received bucketfuls of…we would also quite like any financial support possible. NOW we are not asking for mountains of money, we, like you adults, are reasonable, and ask that you only donate as much as you feel we deserve. Any donation would greatly benefit our project and will help us ‘slash’ the costs coming from our own, measly, teenage pockets. So, please! If you love nostalgia, care about reviving old cinematic ways and most importantly, want to support a bunch of kids and their dreams, out of the goodness of your heart give us a little donation - we’ll love you forever for it!
P.S. - we’ll also add your name in the credits so this could also be YOUR big break, just saying...
