I would like start this Go-Fund-Me for my sister, Cammy Eberhardt, to help raise funds for her ongoing cancer treatment. Please take a moment and read her story…

Cammy was diagnosed with Stage 3B Metastatic Melanoma in January of 2020. She underwent two surgeries to remove the Melanoma and a nearby lymph node. She received immunotherapy treatments for a year all while continuing to work her full time job as a Cosmetologist and volunteering as an Assistant Coach for Durham High School basketball team. She worked hard to push past the side effects of the immunotherapy, and finished all recommended doses on February 22, 2021. We were all so glad to have this obstacle behind her, and for her to finally start trying for a family as her and her husband have dreamed.

Last month, Cammy found out her cancer has returned, but this time in 10+ nodules located throughout her body. She immediately had an appointment with her out-of-town Oncologist who explained to her she has a genetic predisposition for this type of cancer. She was told that surgery is no longer an option for her, and would most likely need long term treatment. Being that Nick and Cam had months and months of failed attempts at getting pregnant, they learned that this possibility may never become a reality.

They were able to discuss options of fertility treatment and egg retrieval, however with the added realization of soon-to-be medical bills, the costs of this treatment is far out of financial reach.

Cammy will also most likely need time off work for this new proposed treatment, and it is my concern that her financial stress of not working will supersede her need to rest and get well.

Her treatment costs, out-of-town travel bills, as well as having enough money for fertility treatments, Cammy and Nick are going to need any help they can get.
