Camino Portugues for Ukraine Fundraiser

Hey! My name is Amin, a 27-year-old from Australia, currently moving about the world here and there. During July of this year, I travelled to Ukraine and spent my time in the cities of Lviv and Kyiv volunteering at several local organisations.

The Russian invasion may have fallen out of the news cycle, but it hasn't ended. A bloody war of attrition is being fought in the east of Ukraine, and the civilian population is still terrorised daily by airstrikes across the country.

In spite of the devastating loss of life, mass destruction and displacement from their homes, the Ukrainian people persevere with immense resilience to rebuild and continue living life as best as they can.

I'm now in Portugal to walk the Camino, a spiritual pilgrimage across 620km from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela in the north of Spain. I'll be using the walk to raise awareness for Ukranians in need and raising funds for three organisations that I volunteered with during my time there.

BravetoRebuild Active primarily in the Kyiv regions of Irpin, Bucha, & Gostomel, volunteers dismantle rubble and repair damaged residential buildings and social institutions. The initiative also collects and distributes humanitarian aid, which helps people rebuild their homes and survive the winter.

Domivka Shelter : Based in Lviv, and initially set up to save wild animals in Ukraine from human violence. After the Russian invasion, Domivka expanded to take in pets that had lost their families and homes in war affected regions such as Kharkiv and Kherson.

Frontline Kitchen: A volunteer organisation based in Lviv that prepares hundreds of meals every day to send out to Ukrainians in need currently in frontline regions of the country.

I'll be matching donations received up to $1000 AUD, with all funds received going directly to these three organisations to assist with the purchase of supplies to continue their mission.
