This May, seven of us are doing a route of the Camino de Santiago and are raising money for PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland. We will be walking 100km over the course of five days, starting in Vigo, Spain. Between the group, we are also aiming to run 100km collectively before we fly to Spain next month.
PIPS provides counselling and befriending support to individuals who are experiencing or have experienced suicidal thoughts or mental health issues. PIPS Charity also provides support to families and friends who have been affected by suicide.
The money raised will go towards supporting the services of PIPS, such as providing counselling, alternative therapies, crisis support, support groups, home visits and awareness campaigns. Their open door policy ensures no appointment or wait is needed to have a chat.
