Help Me Rebuild After Job Loss and a Car Accident

Hi, I’m Camila I am a social media manager, and I’m reaching out for support during an incredibly challenging time.

In December, just one week before Christmas, I unexpectedly lost my job after only three months of employment. Unfortunately, this also disqualified me from receiving unemployment benefits. This setback, paired with limited assistance from local organizations due to overwhelming demand, has left me struggling to cover basic expenses like rent, utilities, phone bills, car payments, and insurance.

I’ve been actively applying for countless jobs—temporary, part-time, and full-time—across various industries, but I haven’t received an offer yet. I’m ready to work hard and take on any opportunity to move forward, but things took a turn for the worse recently.

On January 21st, during a severe winter storm, I had a car accident while trying to park the vehicle. I tried to Uber after noticing the car was too long to defrost and to warm up I cancel the order request and log off the app. I tried to move the vehicle but icy road conditions caused my car to skid and hit a pole. Now, I’m being pressured by Uber’s insurance to file a claim through their policy, which has a $2,500 deductible—much higher than the $1,000 deductible under my own insurance. Uber should not get into this since the accident happened after log off the app. My car is financed, and the insurance company has been placing unfair pressure on me instead of providing the assistance I pay for. I’ve already filed complaints and provided full proof of this situation to the BBB and Texas senators because no individual should be treated unfairly.

This situation has added immense stress to my already difficult circumstances. I rely on my car to attend job interviews, including an important one scheduled for January 29th. Without my car, I risk missing this crucial opportunity to get back on track.

I’ve exhausted all my resources, and I’m humbly asking for your help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward my car repairs, living expenses, and giving me a chance to restart my life. Your kindness and support could truly make all the difference in helping me rebuild.
