Camila's Family Medical Fund

Hello dear friends and family,

Thank you for being here. As most of you know this is an inordinately challenging time for Camila and her family. At just 6 1/2 years old our sweet, smart, kind, intuitive, hilarious, and brave Camila has been diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called Ewing sarcoma. Diega and Zane also welcomed Camila's brand new baby sister in this midst of Camila's new diagnosis.

Camila will require bi-weekly trips from Eugene to Portland for treatments at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital for which she will stay inpatient for one or two nights. The long term treatment plan will include chemotherapy, surgery, and then more chemotherapy lasting likely up to a year.

Diega's mom lives in Portland so this helpful, but the family will have a lot of new expenses with all the travel, gas, and generally being away from home. Additionally, Zane will be taking several days off of work on a monthly basis and Diega, who is self-employed, will not return to work for several months. Camila will likley have to transition to home schooling this school year and/or next. There are many more needs that are difficult to foresee right now, including keeping as much fun and normalcy as possible to help Camila feel happy and supported.

Camila is an incredible light in all of our worlds and words cannot describe how challenging of a blow this has been and will continue to be, financially and emotionally.
