Our beloved Camila was born August 4th 2020.
Prior to birth she was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a combination of 4 heart defects and compressed lungs. Shortly after birth she was diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome.
A guarded prognosis was given with many different outcomes.
She has made it to 37 weeks and was delivered by an emergency c-section. Her heart rate dropped rapidly during labor, and was born not breathing. She was intubated right away and has continued being a fighter ever since.
Camila has been hospitalized for the past 2 months and requires a significant amount of medical intervention. She was transferred to UCLA hospital after struggling to maintain stable in San Diego. She will be having open heart surgery soon for a full heart repair.
We have anxiously been waiting for this day.
Camila will eventually need more surgeries and early interventions to help her grow and thrive.
Everyday with her is a blessing. We are taking it day by day knowing we must remain strong for her, and our other children during this challenging time.
We want to ensure that she receives the best care possible that will meet all her needs as she continues to develop. As her parents we want to be with her along the way. She needs consistency from us and her medical team wherever that may lead her to.
Due to the current situation both my husband and I have left our home in San Diego with our other 3 children to be there in support to our sweet Camila.
Expenses such as co-pays, daily hospital parking, gas, and groceries are starting to add up and with both of us not being able to work full time, and with current Covid-19 situation it has made it even tougher both financially and emotionally.
We realize that we cannot do this on our own without the help of family and friends. We’re thankful for any help we receive through out this time.
Please keep Camila and our family in prayer as we navigate through this journey of hers.
