Cami's FFS Recovery
Donation protected
Cami is getting her Facial Feminization Surgery in late October, and her community is excited to support her through her recovery. As a single (cat) mom who works 3 jobs, she is undoubtedly stressed with recovery funds. We want to ensure that the days ahead are filled with ease and true rest.
Your donations will directly support Cami’s basic living funds during her recovery, and any medical related bills not covered by her insurance. It’s time to make sure she feels fully supported as she heals with a lift from those who love her!
We are so thankful for any and all donations. Any contribution will make a significant impact on our sister’s recovery process.
*Any remaining funds post recovery will be directly redistributed to other trans affirming care.
Update from Cami
Thank you so much for donations. Every single donation has shaken me to my core, and processing all of this has been overwhelming and surreal.
My parents have decided not to play a role in my life. Although you can’t replace the support or love from a parent, I am thankful to my chosen family and community for reminding me I am not alone and for showing me what the essence of community feels like.
Through the process of my upcoming surgery (FFS), I am excited to see and recognize myself when I look in the mirror, and to feel safe knowing my physical form reflects my soul in its entirety.
Without your generosity, this experience would be impossible. You all are allowing me and my baby kitties, Nike(B&W) & Kimchi(Orange), safety and peace during my recovery. There is no greater gift. My cats are my world, my children; anyone who knows me, knows how important they are to me. Nike is a diva, my biological son (I raised him since a kitten); I owe him my life. Throughout college, there were days I couldn’t even get out of bed, but knowing I had him to take care of got me through a very dark period of time. And my Kimchi is fierce! She was adopted from a shelter after Nike. She loves to serve face, snuggle, and astral project.
My mothering gene has shaped my career thus far. I have spent time teaching elementary school and nannying children. Seeing the world through children’s eyes has taught me that the love and guidance I desire is also mine to give. I see myself through them, especially my 1yr old bestie. I am reminded of what it means to be a pillar for someone as some of you have been a pillar for me. I see the indisputable impact of receiving all of the love and support in the world. We ALL deserve this love and support, and I am grateful to feel it now more than ever. As I mentioned, at times this love and care is surreal and difficult to accept. My chosen family, my community, and everybody who has donated has allowed me to step back and RECEIVE the love and support.
We are still moving toward our goal, but we still have about three weeks until the surgery date. As we work to get there, I hope my genuine gratitude and awe for all of you is felt.
This is ONLY possible through all of you.
xx Cami
