My name is Deanna, and I am Cameron Proctor’s aunt. I have known Cameron since before he was born and watched him grow from a goofy, fun-loving little boy to an amazing young man. (He’s still a little goofy, thank goodness!) What has happened to him is truly tragic and I am asking that everyone please pray for Cameron.

What can I tell you about Cameron? Many of you know and love Cam and what is there not to love? He is a bright, talented young man with a kind heart and a great personality. He has always been very devoted to his family. He truly loves his parents Wendy and Jim and his sister Morgan. He also has a great love for animals and adores his pets.

Nothing could have prepared Cameron or any of us for what happened on Friday, January 13, 2023. Cameron suffered severe brain trauma to his frontal lobe when he plummeted backward off of his backyard deck onto the pavement. He was taken to Atrium Hospital where he was intubated and rushed into surgery to help relieve the swelling of his brain. After surgery, Cameron was admitted to the Atrium Trauma Intensive Care Unit, where he is receiving the best possible care.

Cameron has suffered severe trauma to his brain and we are all praying for his recovery. We are thankful for the small miracles every day and worry over the setbacks. Brain injuries like Cameron’s are life-altering. Cameron’s journey to recovery is still uncertain and may take years.
