We all know how precious baby's first curls are, parents always want to keep a lock of hair as a memory. My sister does not want to cut his hair and neither does Cameron. He loves to twirl his little fingers through it, sometimes both hands going at once. We sadly have to say good-bye to his curls, for now.
"Nessie" (a sister's story)
On the night of my 18th birthday, my mom went into labor. Cameron James and I were born exactly 18 years apart. Cameron is not one to cuddle, except for me, his big sister or as he calls me "Nessie". You can imagine how my heart broke as he started to get sick. Thinking it was only allergies at first, but when he got so dehydrated and would scream in pain about his head, he was taken to the E.R. They ran tests and found he had a mass in his brain and he went into surgery immediately. We all feared the unknown. We refused to think about it possibly being cancer. After waiting for what seemed like forever, we got the pathology report, it was an aggressive type of cancer. I hate writing this sentence with everything in me, my 3 year old, blue eyed brother has been diagnosed with brain cancer.
Cameron's Journey
Diagnosis of a 3 year old with medulloblastoma is as serious as it gets. Quick response may have helped treat this cancer with aggressive surgery and chemotherapy treatments. Medulloblastoma is a cancer of the brain found at the back of the skull at the base of the brain. It is a very fast growing tumor and can spread into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Cytology tests soon will help determine the spread and further help medical staff to determine further treatment regimens.
Cameron is now starting a series of intense chemo treatments . He has been accepted into a clinical trial at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. The course of his treatment will be 4-6 months of aggressive chemo. It is one thing to treat cancer, its another thing to beat it. We need your help. My sister is a wonderful teacher and has healthcare that will help cover some of the cost of his chemo. There are many other options in addition to his chemo treatments, all of which are outside of healthcare coverage and very expensive. No child should go through this. We can help ease his suffering and pain through his journey by seeking help from the best nutritionists, doctors, alternative medicine, and possibly outside US treatments. There is nothing we will not do for Cameron or any child fighting cancer. We trust that through this journey of complete healing, God will reveal his grace, love and mercy. Please pray for Cameron.
Now We Fight!
How funds will allow options for Cameron during his battle.
Loss of wages due to time in hospital (mom+dad)
Travel, top Nutritionist, Dr's and therapies out of pocket
Genetic testing including bio-genetic vaccine for possible cure
Future challenges that arise with victims of cancer diagnosis
Cutting-edge medicine
Cameron James loves his cars!
