Cameron's Battle With Cancer

Dear beloved Family, Friends, and Supporters of The Powers Family:

On June 22nd, Cameron was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the Lower Esophagus, a very unusual and aggressive type of cancer. At that time, Cameron had already lost 40 pounds and struggled to make it through a day at work.

Since being diagnosed, he has worked with an excellent team of doctors from Lake Region Healthcare, Sanford, and the Mayo Clinic. They worked together to develop a treatment plan that includes Chemotherapy, Radiation and Surgery.

Cameron has been battling severe nausea, dehydration and extreme fatigue.

On Wednesday, July 20th, Cameron began part of his treatment of Chemopthereopy and began Radiation on Monday, July 25th. He will continue these treatments for the next 12 weeks to hopefully shrink the Cancerous Tumor before surgery. During this time, Cameron will be unable to work.
