We'd like you to meet Cameron. Cameron is 2 months old. His parents, Aaron and Casey, took him to the doctor earlier this week because he started to look jaundice. After some tests, his doctor sent him to an out of state specialist. After more tests and a HIDA scan, they found his liver wasn't functioning. They did exploratory surgery and confirmed it was biliary atresia (a rare liver and bile duct disease in infants.) The doctors decided to do kasai procedure surgery (connecting the small intestines directly to his liver).

There is an 85% chance he will still need a liver transplant but, his father, Aaron, has volunteered to be a living donor, if so. This all happened so fast and Cameron's family and friends are so thankful he came out of this surgery okay. He is currently on a feeding tube and will be in the hospital for a couple weeks. He also had a blood transfusion last night.

In addition to this, Aaron had just started a new job this past Monday so, his new insurance had not kicked in yet. He worked his first day and has been out of work and out of state (at Wolfson Children's Hospital) ever since (and will be there these next couple of weeks.) Excluding any lifelong care, medical bills from his recent tests and surgery are expected to be over $30K.
