On July 6th, my cousin, Cameron Scott, and his family were vacationing in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, when they were met with tragedy.

Cameron was playing in the shallow water when his family realized he was no longer where he had been. They immediately began searching when a group of bystanders simultaneously pulled Cameron from the water and initiated CPR until paramedics arrived at the scene. The ambulance transported Cameron to the hospital, where the medical staff did everything they could do. Cameron passed away at the age of 9.

Additionally, Cameron’s oldest brother, Preston, had been in Israel since mid-June for a college course when he contracted an intense bacterial infection. After receiving medical treatment in an Israeli hospital, Preston was sent home and arrived in Tennessee while the family was still in Florida. Unfortunately, Preston’s condition hasn’t improved much despite being treated with a steroid and an antibiotic. The noticeable changes have been very slow; his medical needs for the future are still unclear.

The Scott family’s world turned upside down. As the family grieves, please consider donating to support their family as they face unexpected medical bills, time off from work, and unknown future expenses. All funds donated will be sent directly to the Scott family as they navigate this difficult time.
