HELP US SUPPORT THE CAMERONS' MEDICAL EXPENSES.

We are asking for financial support to help our friends of 20 years. YES, 20 years! How many of you have had friends for that long? They are really family at this point.

I want to give you the current events and what has precipitated this GoFundMe request. I will tell you about the Camerons too, because they are amazing! But first – events that have brought us here -

James had a heart attack (a widow maker) and a stroke on Monday, February 14th. His hospital bill is at $250K as of today. That is before any doctor or treatment bills come in.

As bad as that is, they have also been hit with a job loss. James wears a medical device to monitor his diabetes; this requires a job accommodation. It was brought to his attention in late December that the accommodation had not been submitted by his doctor. Long story short, due to the holidays, he was terminated because of the missing accommodation. He has gone through the necessary process and his job has been restored. However, due to his recent heart attack, his return to work date is unknown.

And to add to the hits, due to the job loss, his health insurance was suspended. Luckily, COBRA insurance is available, but we all know the cost of that, and they have to pay for 3 months immediately to be able to reinstate the insurance to cover the current hospital bill and all the other medical expenses that will start flowing in.

The Camerons are an amazing family. They are a rainbow family. They are a strong family. They are a Disney family! James and Callie built their family by love, marriage, and adoption. They have been through almost every struggle you can imagine a family would go through. They have survived and thrived all along the way. Being a family that grew through fostering/adoption, they have survived all kinds of heartache that you can’t imagine. But they are also very loving and giving.

If you need anything, they will always be there for you without you even asking. They've driven hours, with a smoker in tow, to support friends during a loss. They've driven hours to attend a homeschool graduation because homeschooled kids deserve hoopla too. They spent many holidays feeding friends who are away from their own family. Their home is always open to anyone who needs a place to land.

Now it is our turn to show them how much they are loved and appreciated. Please help us support this family financially. Our goal is $20,000, which will help them pay 6 months of COBRA insurance and cover 6 months of living expenses. We know this is a big number. But if everyone who has been touched by this family can chip in any amount, it will easily exceed the goal. Your contribution will allow James and Callie to take the time James needs to heal.
