Hello You may know me under one of the following bylines, Tim or Moth or A.M. Arrick and if you follow high school sports in the southeast Michigan area you know me as a freelance photographer for multiple newspapers.

I had an incident back in January where I was photographing a hockey game and had someone come over the boards flip me backwards heels overhead into a concrete wall shattering the lens that you see about.

If you know anything about freelance photography we don't make much money. Typically only about $50 an assignment. I really need to get this lens replaced I have a backup that is significantly less than.

Obviously I don't do this for the money I do this for the kids I know that sounds quirky as hell but it's true I love being able to help the kids make memories.

I've got three levels that I'm kind of shooting for here. I actually have a fourth but I'm not going to push that one because it's way too expensive.

The first level was a repair but it's out the door as Cannon cannot repair the lens.

Replacement cost for the lens is $2,800 new and the upgraded version on the market is $3,200 new.

In a perfect world we'd get the upgraded version but my world is not been perfect for quite some time so we'll take what we can get just to get back up and photographing properly for the kids.
