Hey everyone, I'm Camellia Evergreen. You may know me as the creator of some games, the writer of this blog, or as a familiar face on streams or Discord.

Normally, I prefer to keep my online presence as separate from my personal life as I can manage, but circumstances have forced me to make an exception. Mid-2021, I entered what would prove to be an exceptionally abusive and controlling 4 and a half year long relationship. I gave up everything I had to do so, leaving my country and friends behind, and had no means to leave due to being financially reliant on them. I had most aspects of my life controlled, and often experienced retaliation for even speaking to a friend or spending any time for myself. I fought to make the best of the situation as I could, and in 2024 started "Ever Green Games" in the hopes of creating a career for myself (however gradually) and giving me ground to stand on once again.

At the start of this year it became clear I could no longer tolerate my circumstances. I put an immense amount of effort into improving the relationship over the years, but in reality things never improved as much as I had come to believe. Then, that ex took on an additional partner (I am / we were polyamorous) and used that partner's 'superiority' to me to devalue me and break down what few boundaries I had managed to build up for myself over the years. I then began to accept the reality of the situation and resolved to get out. In March, I was offered a place to go to recover and recuperate, which itself did not turn out to be a healthy, amicable or safe environment, and I was not able to recover or get back on my feet as I'd hoped.

Now, I'm staying temporarily with my girlfriend in Europe. My visit will expire mid-October, at which point I'll have to return to the US and begin again, hopefully for real this time, the process of rebuilding my life. I have a wonderful and happy relationship with this person, but neither of us have the means to manage a visa for me on such short notice. Also, our relationship is still relatively young and I would strongly prefer to begin our life together more gradually and from a position of stability.

I tend to be quite private and hold myself with my head held high besides, so some of this may come as a shock to those who know me. Hopefully, if nothing else, that will communicate the gravity of this situation.

Whatever you are able to offer financially would be an immense help as I begin to get back on my feet. I am currently out of work, though hoping to change that ASAP. Ideally I would find work in my field, but I'll be looking for whatever I can get. I have arranged a temporary place to stay with a long time friend in a city I know well, so thankfully I can say with confidence I'll be landing somewhere safe.
