Cameah and Christian house fire

Hello everyone, my name is Christina and I am raising money for my pregnant sister Cameah, her life partner Christian and my nephew Jov after they suffered a devastating loss when a house fire broke out this week from their wood burning stove that destroyed their home. Unfortunately the structure is no longer inhabitable and the items that didn’t burn were damaged from smoke and soot. The things that were ruined, range from clothing, to furniture, to food and even sentimental keepsakes that can’t be replaced.
Their former home was their sanctuary, so this loss is catastrophic to them. They took a mediocre country bungalow and transformed the space into their own Shangri-La. The land they had lived on for the past 7 years was their baby. They planted fruit trees, vegetable gardens, made beautiful rock pathways throughout the property and Christian built a beautifully interactive tree house for Jovie a couple years ago (equipped with tire swing, zip line and all).
During the Kincade fires in 2019, Christian stayed behind to help save their home and Front Porch Farms, their neighboring local organic nursery. For many days, he worked along side wildfire firefighters often only sleeping a few hours a night. He worked tirelessly for days and in the end, all was saved.
Cameah, Christian and Jov are eclectic, loving and inclusive people who deserve the most basic of securities: a home. Any monetary donation will be much appreciated and will go towards helping them get back on their feet.
They’re currently staying in a motel until the 13th but will be considered unhoused after that. They continue to search for a home to rent, but this takes time and resources that they currently don’t have.
Cameah and her family are such kind souls and my heart hurts that they’re going through this. These are the moments when they should be focused on welcoming the newest addition to their family, not worrying about the future of their family. As the saying goes, “Any help, helps.”
