Hello,

We are the Cambridge University Society of Women, the only openly and proudly single-sex society at the University of Cambridge. We offer membership to women who are current students or alumnae of the university.

Free speech on university campuses is under threat, and our society combats that by exercising our right to single-sex association, where we consciously engage in civil debate and discussion. This is our main aim.

In order to achieve our goal, we will be holding events in Cambridge. We plan to include speaker events, discussion forums, panel debates, a book club, socials and more. Holding these gatherings of women will allow some of us to shed a potential tendency to self-censor and even self-exclude when in a mixed-sex environment, or an environment that only purports to be truly women-only.

Donations are so appreciated, as we will need to hire venues, cover travel costs and catering, fund our publicity campaigns and more. We will also be running campaigns to advocate for women's sex-based rights and causes.

We need to make our events safe and secure for all attendees, which means that we are also anticipating security-related costs.
