Cambridge United Raise Hospice Care Funds for Tom Youngs
After requests from fans, the Club is glad to launch a dedicated GoFundMe page to raise vital funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care, in memory of recently departed Club legend Tom Youngs.
The reaction to the tribute to Tom in the Rebrand and Kit Launch Video last week was a testament to the legacy that Tom left, both on and off the pitch. To further honour the impact he left, in addition to the GoFundMe page, the Club would like to encourage fans to get 'Youngs' printed on the back of any 25/26 kits, free of charge.
The Club, and supporters, were delighted to welcome Tom and his family to our Former Players Appreciation fixture against Blackpool in August of last season where he spoke eloquently at half time to supporters about his time with the U's, life after and his experience living with MS.
At the request of his family, the funds raised will be donated to St Nicholas Hospice Care. The hospice, in Bury St Edmunds, provided vital care and support to Tom and his family towards the end of his life and aim to ensure that residents have a good quality of life for as long as possible whilst also providing care and support for the families affected.
The Club will also be honouring Tom's memory at the first home game of the 25/26 Season.
