Why We Need Your Help
We believe that everyone has the right to enjoy food together with family and friends at Christmas time. Sharing food is one of the things that brings us together in celebration - but rising living costs continue to put pressure on countless households, with many forced to choose between food and other essentials like heating. In a city where one in five children is at risk of food poverty, the festive season can be a time of stress, isolation and going without.

Your support will help ensure that no family in Cambridge goes hungry this festive season, relieving the burden of food insecurity.
Thanks to the generosity of the Cambridge community, we'll be delivering Christmas food hampers to create the perfect Christmas spread and providing people with seasonal fresh produce to keep them nourished through the winter period. These hampers provide more than food: they deliver care, kindness, and hope to families in need.
Your donations make a meaningful difference to our work:
£20 will provide a family with fresh fruit and vegetables for the festive period and Christmas dinner
£50 will provide activities and holiday lunches for five children
£200 will redistribute a tonne of surplus food to social projects.
Year-Round Impact of our Work
Our work isn’t just for the holiday season. Throughout the year, we provide crucial food support to thousands of people, helping them stretch tight budgets, access healthy meals, and feel less isolated. With your help, we can continue offering this essential support beyond the holidays, improving the health and resilience of our entire community. Our vision is simple: a fair and resilient food system that is good for people and the planet. Our award-winning work is making this a reality, building a healthier, more equitable city.
Last year we:
- Redistributed over 60 tonnes of surplus food, providing the equivalent of 133,982 meals to social food projects across the city and saving over 150 tonnes of CO2e emissions compared to if this food had gone to landfill.
- Supported 7 food hubs in Cambridge that received 20,585 visits
- Provided 743 food parcels for front-line organisations supporting people facing homeless or at risk
- Stopped children going hungry by providing 2506 free lunches during the school holidays
- Taught families and vulnerable individuals how to cook nutritious meals on a budget.
