Cambodian Orphanage and 18 kids need your help

Hi friends and supporters,

we are reaching out to you with an important concern. Our Cambodian friends, Sok Chin and his wife Man Rothy, are running an orphanage with 18 kids in the Siem Reap area in Cambodia. The group consists of 15 orphans and abandoned children as well as his three own kids. They are mostly between 2 -13 years old with 2 being older (17 and 22 years). Sok is an incredibly good person who wants a better childhood for orphans and abandoned kids - as he himself was an orphan and had a very difficult childhood. His goal is that every child in his orphanage continues to go to school until the age of 16.

Before the outbreak of Covid-19, Sok used to fund this by himself as a tour guide of Angkor Temples in Siem Reap as well as the tourists` support. But since the outbreak, the situation has deteriorated drastically and until now, there are hardly any tourists back in the region. Therefore, Sok has currently no chance of earning sufficient income, which is putting him under distress but also especially the children he is taking care of for the last 10 years.

Sok is additionally running a school foundation where all kids from surrounding villages can join English lessons and other afternoon activities. Olga knows Sok personally. She lived at Sok’s orphanage in 2016 and gave English lessons to the kids. English knowledge is the only way for those kids to get out of poverty one day.

Do you want the help those orphans? You can make a big difference with every small amount. Please help Sok to sustain the orphanage and the school until more tourists will visit Siem Reap and he can find work again. All donations will go directly to the orphanage.

We plan to raise €3520 to be able to cover orphanage's monthly costs of €440 at least until end of year - purely with regards to housing, food and key supplies for the school. Sok will receive the money on a monthly level. If the situation has not improved significantly by then, we will reach out for donations again - ideally at a lower monthly cost due to improved own income.
