In 9 days, God is coming.
My name is Cam Layson, and I am writing and directing my Senior Thesis short film this semester, BEAR TRAP.
BEAR TRAP is an experimental horror short film. With this project, I want to explore and challenge specific interpretations of religious ideologies, along with finding the contrast between following a leader’s morals vs. your own.
The movie follows a Priest in mourning, trapped in his church by unexplained storms of blood rain. With whatever he has around him, the Priest constructs a shrine for an unknown reason. Just outside his four walls and a roof, something is causing a quiet apocalypse, and it will be there soon.
This project is going to be a weird one. It’ll be my most ambitious project to date, pushing myself to write something I feel is extremely personal, along with challenging myself artistically in terms of actual production. Obviously, this project will not be possible alone. I’m joined by a group of incredibly talented people who I am proud to call my friends. They are providing their time to make something awesome together, but to actually get this thing made, we need your support financially.
Donating to this project feeds the cast and crew during production, pays the actors for their work, and just means that this production can actually happen. Donors will get a special thank you in the credits of the film, along with the gratitude from an inspired group of filmmakers. We deeply appreciate any amount you can give, and if you aren’t able to support financially, sharing this fundraiser helps a ton as well.
Thank you so much for your support, we don’t get to do this without you and I’m grateful. We’re gonna make something awesome, and we’re excited to get to work!!!
