All was going well for our friend Cam (aka Gutterball Gary) as he took the summer off from the central Australian heat and travelled south to pursue rock shows, visits with mates and seasonal work in Tasmania.

While cooking a meal for a friend, Cam had his first seizure. It came completely out of the blue with no other symptoms.

Eleven days in hospital and one brain biopsy later he was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma.

Cam has started treatment for his cancer, including radiation therapy which he cannot receive in Alice Springs. This unexpected situation has dictated that Cam remain in Hobart, close to the hospital while he continues treatment and regular appointments with his oncologist. He has had amazing support from the healthcare system and friends in the area who are doing everything they can to help out.

Cam has always given unconditionally as a friend. Always thinking of others and passing gifts along when he meets up with mates, sharing anything he has with those around him, putting in free labor help make art, music and gatherings as special and exciting as possible.

We want to make sure that Cam doesn’t have to shoulder the burden of dwindling finances as he continues this fight.
