It is with deep regret, to inform you all that our SuperMan: Calvin “Cool Cal” Lang his lost his battle with stage 4 metastatic squamous cell carcinoma one day before Father’s Day, June 15, 2019.
The primary goal in making this GoFundMe page was to raise funds to get Cool Cal to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia after local hospital oncologists told the family “there was nothing more we can do,” after chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and 5 blood transfusions were unsuccessful.
At this time however, donations are gratefully being accepted for his family at the unexpected and difficult time of Calvin’s passing. When Calvin was asked what he wanted to be remembered for, he easily replied,
“Remember me for the dedication and work I’ve done with the kids as far as mentoring and teaching, loving and coaching basketball.”
We plan to open a foundation and will seek sponsorship in Calvin’s Honor to start programs to continue mentoring, teaching and supporting the Youth & young athletes in our community.

Ways To Prevent Squamous Cell Skin Cancer:
• EARLY DETECTION IS KEY!
• Protect your skin with sunscreen daily - reapply every 2 hours if outdoors, swimming or excessively sweating
• Observe your skin regularly and consult with your physician if you see any growths or unusual spots or bumps that get bigger or change/hurt/bleed
• The single most common cause of squamous cell carcinoma is overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight. However, there are many sub types for CSCC and some may be linked to a previous chemical exposure, contact with waste, sewage water, industrial materials, or tar.
