Calvin Davi and Family - Medical Emergency

Please support the Davi family, after an unexpected accident occurred on February 6th, shortly after moving to Cameroon to start missionary work.

Timotheé and Abby Davi made a life changing decision to serve others and move to Yaoundé, Cameroon to serve others. They were there less than one week when a severe accident happened. Calvin was severely burned and rushed to the local hospital, then transferred to a second hospital.

Little Calvin has second degree burns over roughly 35% of his body with a few signs of third degree burns. The things we take for granted in the United States are not available in third-world countries, like good healthcare. Their first couple of nights at the hospital were shared with mosquitos and without AC. Timotheé had to pay out-of- pocket for basic medical supplies. After a second opinion a doctor said Calvin should be transferred out of Cameroon to receive better care at a reputable hospital, specifically a burn unit.

Because of risk of infection in the current environment, a decision was made to Medivac Calvin to Johannesburg, South Africa. They are evacuating mom and baby on Saturday. After some stressful negotiation, Timotheé was allowed to board the plane with them. They are contemplating coming back to Minnesota for longer term treatment. While they have special insurance, it likely won’t cover expenses incurred for travel or living expenses while in South Africa

As missionaries, Timotheé and Abby’s ability to face the mounting medical debt and related expenses is almost impossible without the additional support of community aid.

Please consider a donation to this fund as a tangible way to love and care for Calvin and their family. No parent should have to face what they are facing, much less worry about the financial cost of it.

Much information is unknown at this time. The goal amount is a wild guess at this point. If, God willing, they receive more funds than needed for this tragic situation, the remainder will be likely be donated to their personal missionary fund through the partnering agency.
