Calvin "extra fingers" Smith

Hello, my name is Chevon and on behalf of Joan, Calvin's wife and Calvin's children Mathew, Malcolm and Vanessa and step son Tyler, I have started this fund to help support the family in their time of loss. Calvin passed away on October 1, 2024, unexpectedly. Although he was in the hospital for over a month, we had our first encouraging news as Calvin began to breath on his own and was responsive. A few hours later, sadly Calvin passed away.
Although small in stature, Calvin's impact and influence was immeasurable. He had a knack for making you feel important and cared for. He will be remembered not only as a mentor, coach, friend, brother, cousin, son, father, and husband but a genuinely good person. He was the life of the party, showing his dance moves for all to see. For a 60 plus year old, Calvin was IN SHAPE, and he was known for that. His active lifestyle only served to motivate others as well as bring out the competitive spirit we all know. I have heard stories of Calvin travelling to Florida and random people would shout out to him, “Yo Calvin,” Joan would ask, “how do you know so many people?” I can just imaging Calvin’s cocky little 2 step and smirk on his face as he would respond, “because I’m Calvin baby.” Always someone you could confide in and lean on; Calvin embodied the term “Friend.”
Sadly, we will no longer enjoy Calvin’s physical presence, however his memory will live on through his loved ones, his friends, and his former work colleagues. It is up to us to keep his memory alive.
The funds raised will assist with initial costs associated with his funeral as well as to alleviate financial burdens sustained while Calvin was in the hospital. Losing someone close is tough and my heart goes out to Joan and all of Calvin’s children as well as his close friends. It is a time for all who loved and respected Calvin to come together and to keep his legacy alive.
Please contribute to help Joan and Family. Every donation, regardless of size will make a significant impact.
Note to donors:
100% of the proceeds will be distributed by the organizer Chevon Griffiths to Joan and family to help with their transition. Thank you all in advance for your generosity. Funeral arrangements are being planned and will occur in about 2-3 weeks.
